-Alonzo Menfield: Small sample size, but I’m not overly impressed with Dashawn Boatwright. 3-0 pro record. Failed to finish a fighter making his pro debut. Other 2 wins are knockouts. Needed 4 rounds to knock out Eric Ellerbee who had a 1-1 pro record going into that fight. Menifield has an overwhelming advantage in experience, already has a win on the Contender Series, has beaten much better competition. And in a matchup between two strikers, Menfield has the better stand up. Menfieild by 1st round knockout.
-Chris Curtis: Sean Lally’s 7-2 pro record looks pretty good, but when you look under the hood, you’ll find that all 7 of his wins came against fighters with a losing record. Curtis has been around for awhile. 18-5 pro record. In his prime at 30 years old. Pretty good wrestler. Decent striking. Lally will be no match. Look for Curtis to take Lally down and get a ground and pound TKO in the 1st round.
-Greg Hardy: This fight could go either way. Everyone knows Hardy’s history. Austen Lane is at a similar point in his career, except he’s had 2 pro wins, 2-0 pro record, next to Hardy’s 3-0 amateur record and now making his pro debut. Both have only had basically fist fights so far. Longest fight Hardy has been in went 96 seconds. Lane’s longest fight was 20 seconds. I think the UFC wants Hardy to win and wouldn’t match him up with someone they didn’t think he could beat. That’s really the only thing I have to go off of in picking Hardy by 1st round knockout.
-Rico Disciullo: Not much to go off of with Montel Jackson. Just a 2-0 pro record and a few amateur fights. What I do see is a fighter who 4 finishes on poor competition. But when Jackson fought an a 34 year old fighter who’s 3-3, Jackson failed to get the finish. Disciullo will have a giant experience advantage being 9-1. And Disciullo isn’t afraid to use his wrestling to win boring fights. For most fighters, wrestling is an area that takes awhile to excel at. Disciullo has too many ways to win for me not to pick him. Disciullo by decision.
-Kevin Holland: Holland can really win this fight whichever way he wants. He’s well rounded. 25 years old. Will Santiago is mostly a striker. No striking, no wrestling. And Santiago can and has been out struck before. Holland will start out seeing how he does on the feet. And if he’s in trouble, will take Santiago down and will submit him. I’ll go with Holland by 1st round submission.
